North Carolina law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address and job title or profession and name of employer’s specific field for each individual whose contributions in aggregate exceed $50 per election cycle. The maximum contribution per person, per election cycle (primary election, then general election), is $1000. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal or state income tax purposes. Contributions from corporations and foreign nationals are prohibited. Under North Carolina law, lobbyists may not contribute to a state campaign. If you are a lobbyist registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State and have received this solicitation in error, please disregard it.
